Oh hey, vacay

(At least I don't have a trendy shirt with that saying on it...yet...)

Helloooooooo!

This mama is tanned, well rested, and full of vitamin D. OH YES, I just got back from a five day vacation to the Bahamas.

My parents sponsored the trip- my in laws sponsored the kid-free portion.

We stayed at Sandals Royal Bahamian. I'm not getting paid to endorse them, but I totally should be, 'cause I'm giving it a glowing review. Get ready for a hundred photos!

Questionable GPS on our flight there...

Check-in champagne.

The view from our hotel room was so beautiful.

I mean, IF I HAVE TO look at this view, I guess I will.

The grounds were so pretty too.

Sandals has a private island where they shuttle you by boat. It's definitely not roughing it, as there's a beachside restaurant, pool, and plenty of lounge options.

Bring on all the non-kid-friendly swimwear!

We did a ton of snorkeling. We even saw a sea turtle! It was so neat- then my husband yelled over that he also saw two squid. OKSEEYABYE as I swam back to shore. I can deal with a turtle, but other ocean critters freak me out.

The water is so brilliantly blue-green and crystal clear.

Sandals is an all-inclusive hotel, and in our experience, that means so-so food options. Not at Sandals! We were truly impressed by the quality of all our meals, especially dinners. We had fantastic Italian, Japanese, French, and seafood meals. Even the breakfast buffet was great.

I mean, it doesn't suck to have fresh grilled fish on the beach.

In addition to eating, we did take time to hit the gym. Again, I had kind of low expectations for their on-site gym. What I did not expect was the top floor location with this view:

I did an Insta-story video tour of the gym. There's also a balcony area where you can take a yoga mat and stretch.

We took a taxi into downtown Nassau one morning for some sightseeing. We found our way over to the Queen's staircase, a historic site.

We also love to check out local grocery stores when we're abroad. So many different products from what you see here!

I am definitely not a potato chip girl, but give me some plantain chips and I'm happy.

My husband was a good sport for all the photos I wanted.

This is how a dietitian travels- giant bag of trail mix just in case we need a snack. Oh, and M&Ms because it's a vacation and that's how I party.

Also how I party?

WILD.

It's always bittersweet when a vacation comes to a close. My face couldn't take any more sun exposure, ha, and we knew the kids were eagerly waiting for us to come back.

You know what else makes leaving a vacation a li'l bit sweeter?

That FIRST CLASS LIVING.

Back to reality!
